My husband was away on business this past week-end, so I thought it would be the perfect time to play around with some Kool-Aid.
Friday Night: This was my first time ever, so I had no clue what I was doing. I didn't know how much Kool-Aid to use, so I made each colour 3 packets.
At least the colours didn't pool. I used Iced Blue Lemonade, Cherry, Strawberry, Grape and Lime. I went to about 5 stores, and couldn't find anything else. I don't think we get Lemonade or anything pink-coloured here in Canada.
Saturday Night: I like this one much better. I used different mixtures of Cherry and Iced Blue Lemonade, and a touch of Grape to make burgundy and indigo.
Sunday Night: This one is my favourite! It has different mixes of Lime and Iced Blue Lemonade, and I also used green, blue and red food colouring. I did this one self-striping, so I can't wait to see how it knits up!

Ooooh, I love Sundays yarn!

I think they're both great... but I have to agree, that green one is my favorite as well.
I've had some yarn waiting for Kool-Aid for about 6 months now. You've inspired me get started. I haven't looked at Kool-Aid here yet but if we have a big selection I'll let you know. I'd be glad to send some your way.
I like all of them, but especially the one you started knitting. Wonderful job, because it does NOT pool!
Heh.
My favourite one (though I love them all) is the first one...but then, I've always been a sucker for obnoxiously bold colours.

PS. I'm curious to know how you made the third one self-stripe. Just really long bits of one colour, or is there a technique?
You are fearless!
I love the way all your yarns came out. The sock is knitting up nicely, too. How do you make the yarn self striping so that it doesn't turn out to simply be varigated?
Hi there - I just checked for the first time and found a few of the same as you but also Lemonade, Black Cherry, Tropical Punch, & Swirlin' Strawberry Starfruit. I'll keep looking and let you know what else I find. I'm happy to send some to you... maybe we could swap for some Lime and Blue Lemonade. (I just can't imagine dying yarn without green!)
